Runway Dream vs. Beauty Conversion: The Dior Beauty Opportunity That Was Missed After FW2026 Runway Show

The main question I had after the Christian Dior FW2026 show led me to their official website.

I went looking for a logical continuation of the collection — immediately after the show, not in autumn. The thing is, by autumn the relevance of the thing I was looking for will be close to zero and it won’t stand a chance against the well-established players of the cosy season.

The question had actually started forming in my mind earlier, when I saw the chair invitation. I was carefully watching the models in motion. More precisely — their hands. Dior has one of the strongest beauty divisions alongside its fashion arm. While the two divisions operate on different schedules, at least in the context of the runway it would be more than logical to combine them into one coherent narrative. After all, that the runway sells not only the intricate pieces meant for the 2%, but also a dream that can be reached by the customer through a lipstick — or a nail polish.

It was exactly the models’ manicures that I watched throughout the entire show, hoping to see a grassy green shade — the colour of the set-up, of several statement designs, and of the current logo background — the color the brand itself made a signature this season. Dior played it safe with nude nails and, oh, so woke-up like this hair and make-up.

Why launch a green nail polish now? Because in autumn clients traditionally switch to every shade of red and burgundy, chocolate, navy, aubergine, and grey-black. Currently, there is nothing even remotely close to that shade of green in the offering.

Yes, the beauty launches are scheduled almost a year in advance, but there is no reason not to proceed with a single star product inspired by the show when interest is at its peak and needs to be closed with conversion.

I still bought something I buy for like 15+ years. About the order experience will share soon.
