2Jour Website Check: BYREDO Product Page Gaps & Solutions

After seeing an Instagram ad, I landed on BYREDO’s official website featuring the Blanche collection. Practical execution is often left unattended, and this is yet another example.

The collection consists of 21 products.

However, the individual product pages are currently very minimal in design—if not to say nearly empty. They lack consistency and currently include:

1) A mention of the collection, but with only two to four products featured

2) Depending on the specific item, there is also a reference to a broader category—sometimes the collection itself, sometimes a general product type (e.g., for the hair perfume, there’s no link to the Blanche collection, but there is one to the “Hand & Body Care” section). Sometimes such reference is missing on product page.

3) A “You may also like” section, which seems to be generated automatically and doesn’t necessarily feature items from the same product type or collection. On some product pages from Blanche collection such section is missing.

🚨Missed opportunity and gap: lack of displayed connections

Additional gap: the layout is not optimized for desktop

In e-commerce, it’s crucial to display all relevant product connections. Depending on the category and features, there’s almost always potential for cross-sell and up-sell opportunities. For the brand, this means improved conversions; for customers, it means a smoother shopping journey and easier product discovery.

The most obvious product connections in this case include:

  1. The Blanche collection — unified by the same fragrance

  2. Product type — perfume, hand cream, body wash, candles, etc

There are even more nuanced connections to explore. For example, if we consider the perfume category, BYREDO offers:

  • Different intensities (e.g., Absolu de Parfum, Eau de Parfum)

  • Various formats (e.g., multiple volumes, travel sizes, roll-ons, body mists, hair mists)

  • A helpful section on the product page (note an idea) highlighting fragrance type—Blanche is floral, which could serve as another linking point

If we look at the hand cream, it naturally pairs with rinse-free hand wash.

Body wash is often followed by either body cream or lotion—moisturizing textures offered in different forms.

This may sound complex, but it can be well structured without disrupting the clean aesthetic of the current product page—which, to be fair, does align well with the brand’s positioning.
